During an election campaign in Jharkhand, India’s Home Minister Amit Shah made aggressive remarks concerning Bangladesh, stating that if the BJP came to power in the state, they would “hang Bangladeshi infiltrators upside down.” He made this statement during a rally in Sahibganj district as part of the “Parivartan Yatra” on September 20th.

Shah called on voters to support the BJP to combat what he referred to as the growing number of “Bangladeshi infiltrators” and claimed that the tribal population in the Santhal Pargana region was declining due to this issue. He also alleged that slogans like “Hindus leave Jharkhand” were being raised in Pakur district.

Shah criticized opposition parties like JMM, RJD, and Congress, accusing them of protecting these infiltrators for electoral gain. He promised that if the BJP were elected, they would remove all Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators from Jharkhand.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Jharkhand High Court for ordering an investigation into the infiltration issue and stated that the central government, in collaboration with the state, would soon form a committee for this purpose.
