The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted continued rainfall across the country today, with a slight reduction anticipated tomorrow.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are likely in most regions, including Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Some areas may experience moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall.
This weather pattern is attributed to an active monsoon and a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal, explained BMD Assistant Meteorologist Kazi Zebunnesa.
As a result, day temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, while night temperatures may decrease by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours.
Yesterday, Netrokona recorded the highest temperature in the country at 36 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Nilphamari’s Dimla district experienced the highest rainfall, with 107mm recorded in the past 24 hours.
