The United States has repeated its request for thorough investigations into the deaths of civilians during the recent protests and the government’s response to them.
“We believe there should be complete investigations into the civilians who died during the protests and the government’s actions,” said Matthew Miller, a spokesperson for the US Department of State.
During a media briefing on Monday (September 30), Miller added that anyone responsible should be fully held accountable.
In response to a question about the media, the spokesperson emphasized the importance of protecting press freedoms in Bangladesh and around the world.
