The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment is poised to revolutionize the experience of remittance senders returning to Bangladesh. According to Dr. Asif Nazrul, a ministry advisor, these individuals will soon be treated with the same VIP-level service that dignitaries and celebrities enjoy at the country’s airports.
While lounge access might be a perk reserved for the truly elite, remittance senders can expect a host of other privileges. From assistance with luggage to guidance through the check-in process and immigration, the ministry aims to ensure a seamless and stress-free journey home.
Initially, the focus will be on workers returning from the Middle East. However, Dr. Nazrul revealed plans to extend these VIP services to those arriving from Europe in the near future.
The ministry’s goal is to address the challenges and frustrations that many workers often encounter upon their return. By providing dedicated assistance and support, they hope to alleviate the stress and confusion that can accompany the arrival process.
The expatriate welfare desk at the airport will serve as a one-stop-shop for workers, offering guidance on everything from finding the correct gate to completing necessary forms. The ministry has emphasized a zero-tolerance policy regarding any issues related to this initiative, ensuring its swift and effective implementation.
