“When the time is right, we’ll reveal everything. There will be no delay, InshaAllah”

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, stated that the party intends to give the interim government a “reasonable amount of time” ahead of the elections. Speaking at a gathering on Saturday (September 28) in Chuadanga, he said, “When the time is right, we’ll reveal everything. There will be no delay, InshaAllah.”

When asked by reporters about the merits and pitfalls of the interim government, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman urged the administration not to act impulsively or against the nation’s expectations. “They should hold onto the spirit of the 24 revolutions and respect the nation’s consciousness. Occasionally, emotions get the best of them, and we see things happening that shouldn’t. I won’t spell it all out, but you understand what’s going on,” he hinted.

Addressing India, the Jamaat chief played down the need for special emphasis. “India is a country, and so are we. Beyond India, we have other neighbors, and the global stage is full of countries. We’ll continue fostering relations with all nations based on mutual respect and equality,” he stated.

The event, hosted at a local hotel in Chuadanga, was organized for the leaders of Chuadanga and Meherpur districts. Ruhul Amin, the Jamaat Ameer of Chuadanga district, presided over the gathering, while Mubarak Hossain, a member of Jamaat’s Central Executive Council and regional director for the Jessore-Kushtia region, was a special guest.

Also in attendance were notable Jamaat leaders including Abul Hashem, Ameer of Kushtia district; Azizur Rahman, Naib-e-Ameer of Chuadanga; Mahbubur Rahman, Naib-e-Ameer of Meherpur; and other district-level leaders like Asaduzzaman, Iqbal Hossain, and Anwarul Haque Malik. Leaders from Islami Chhatra Shibir, including Hafiz Mohsin, President of the Chuadanga chapter, were also present.
